Presbyterian Women
|
|
|

Forgiven and freed by God in
Jesus Christ,
and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves;
to nurture our faith through
prayer and Bible study,
to
support the mission of the church worldwide,
to
work for justice and peace,
and to
build an inclusive, caring community of women
that strengthens the
Presbyterian Church (USA) and witnesses to the promise of God's Kingdom.

Did you know that all female members of CHPC
are Presbyterian Women? Not just by description, but as members of the
organization known as Presbyterian Women (PW). PW exists at the local,
presbytery, and national level. It has a rich history of nurturing
women, and serving in mission to the church and the world beyond.
Please click on the PW link below for information about PW at the national
level. The links above will connect you to some of the activities of
the CHPC PW. If you would like more information, please contact the
church office and request a PW

Special
Offerings |
|
The
Presbyterian Women sponsor three special offerings each year. The
first, Fellowship of the Least Coin, is the collection of the smallest
denomination of money - pennies in the USA - for missions throughout the
world. The Fellowship of the Least Coin is taken at the
Spring PW Gathering. Please click
here for more information
about the Fellowship of the Least Coin.
The
other two offerings sponsored are church-wide offering received during
worship. Each spring the Presbyterian Women's Birthday Offering is
taken. The funds are sent to the national PW office and are
distributed between five national and international mission projects that
are selected anew each year. For more information on the Birthday
Offering please click here.
On the
Sunday before Thanksgiving each year the PW sponsor the Thank Offering to
express our gratitude for our blessings. 40% is distributed to health
ministries and 60% is distributed to creative ministries. At CHPC, our
PW organization has traditionally invited a guest preacher to speak on a
mission topic for Thank Offering Sunday. You may click
here for more information on
the Thank Offering. |
